Blended learning packages can be built to incorporate a combination of e-learning, online (live  session with trainer) training, classroom training and practical skills training. 

This is often a good way to build a foundation for the learning, progress through to a training class and then practical skills training and assessment. Blended learning will keep the content relevant and the learner engaged.
